The Salute RDX Mattress System features Low Air Loss and Advanced 3-1 Alternating Pressure that inflates and deflates cells in a 3:1 cycle to provide active pressure relief by supporting two-thirds of the user's body weight at any given time to help prevent and treat existing pressure ulcers. 3-1 Alternating Pressure Explained

3-1 Alternating Pressure (AP) inflates and deflates the individual mattress air bladders in cycles to provide pressure relief in a 3:1 ratio. As a result, the mattress surface always supports 2/3 of the body's weight during AP mode—leading to a smoother transition between bladder cycle times, and a more comfortable surface that supports 2/3 of the body's weight as opposed to older "every-other-cell" (2:1) alternating pressure systems that supports only 50% of the body when in AP mode.
