Adding Heavy Duty Reinforcement to your bed can increase the bed's weight baring capacity to as much as 400 lbs. for a single occupant, and 700 lbs. for dual occupants. Reinforced frames have six legs instead of just four, with the extra legs on the sides where the person would get in and out of the bed. Linak motors—frequently the motor of choice for bariatric beds for overweight patients—are used for all Flexabed models. Flexabed customers weighing up to 400 lbs. should be easily accommodated by the Linak motor. However, the frame(s) cannot handle the excessive weight without the additional Heavy Duty Reinforcement.
